The foundations of the modern Erikoğlu Group of the 2000s were laid by our industry doyen Ahmet Nuri Erikoğlu, who started his business life as a tattoo artist in Denizli Kaleiçi Coppersmiths' Bazaar in 1937. In those years, with only a hammer and a few tools, without the use of technology, everything needed as a kitchen utensil in a house, such as cauldrons, pots, trays and trays, was made by Ahmet Nuri Erikoğlu with his hand. Using mathematics very well, Ahmet Nuri Erikoğlu soon stood out among other copper masters and expanded his business, switching from forging to forging, which was a very important innovation at that time. (producing copper ware on a mould). In a short time, he started selling goods to the entire Aegean region, Izmir, Aydın, Muğla and Isparta. In 1959, the copper electrolysis plant (Elektrobakır) was established in Istanbul. Sheet copper was produced in this facility, came to Denizli and was made here. In the 1970s, mass production started. He then decided to turn the produced copper into wire. At that time, the only people doing this job were non-Muslims. The copper wires produced by Ahmet Nuri Erikoğlu started to be sold especially to the Istanbul market. Ahmet Nuri Erikoğlu, who integrated the local workforce very well with a rational education together with his partner Mehmet Ergür, and the minorities who monopolized the copper wire production could not last long in the market and withdrew from the market. After the wire sold to Istanbul was coated with plastic and sold back to Denizli, it was decided to produce cable in Denizli. Thus, Ergür Kablo was established. While copper wire manufacturing continued, Ergür Kablo started to grow in its own way and became one of the 5 largest factories in its sector in Turkey in the 80s. In the 1980s, Ahmet Nuri Erikoğlu's biggest dream was to establish an integrated facility that produced its own copper and eventually turned it into copper wire. With these thoughts, the foundations of Erbakır were laid in the 1980s. Currently, Erbakır has become the largest capitalized enterprise in Denizli and the 2nd largest facility in its field in Turkey. The entrepreneurial spirit of Erikoğlu Group has also been reflected in other sectors. The group has also entered the enameled copper wire, textile, petroleum and electrical materials sectors. Erikoğlu Group will be at the service of Turkey as a leading and exemplary group in the 21st century, as it was in the 20th century.
